Sharps and Clinical Waste Management in Manchester

One of the most historically significant cities of England, Manchester remains to this day an eclectic blend of culture, innovation and ambition. Known for being home to the industrial revolution in the 1800s, the town today counts nearly 3 million diverse people in its greater population; a truly multicultural melting pot that has attracted residents from far and wide.

Computer nerds can geek out knowing that the first modern computer was invented in Manchester, and history buffs will have plenty to learn about regarding the anti-slavery and free trade movements that originated in the town. Lovers of architecture can't miss the John Rylands Library, a neo-gothic structure with intricately carved halls that took an incredible ten years to build.

Known as the “city of firsts”, the Manchester name has been carried across the world with its two world-famous football clubs, Manchester City and Manchester United. With global fanbases in the millions, many make the trek to Man U's at Old Trafford or the Citizens at Etihad Stadium. For the festive season the city doesn’t hold back with it’s extravagant Manchester Christmas Markets - European and local producers bring their goods to town, from Belgian kitchenware experts to Spanish paella chefs! Kids will surely get a kick out of visiting the Manchester Museum as well, with a special opportunity to say hi to Stan - the museum’s resident T-Rex skeleton.

With so much to do and see, Manchester is a city that will leave you trying to catch your breath - it's understandable that healthcare is always top of mind too.

We service locally.

55 minutes from Manchester, our Stoke clean processing plant has serviced hospitals and primary care facilities for over 15 years. When we founded our Stoke plant we had a pretty small washing machine and our signature yellow reusable sharps containers. Today we have robotic washing and treatment capability to manage hundreds of thousands of reusable sharps, clinical and pharmaceutical waste containers, and processes to ensure the cleanliness and security of not only sharps containers, but also the treatment of pharmaceutical medications, cytotoxic residue and clinical waste.

We have come a long way from our roots, but we are honoured and excited by the partnership of thousands of healthcare facilities across the UK that have committed to partnering with us in driving a paradigm shift in clinical waste management. We’re changing things up! But this is needed. We need to provide safer waste management practices for clinicians, we need to protect staff and patients from pathogen exposure, and we need to deliver solutions that minimise waste volumes and manage costs.
