The healthcare waste industry is highly regulated due to the nature of the waste produced. Waste produced by healthcare facilities can often be infectious, hazardous or pharmaceutically contaminated so compliant solutions for packaging, transportation and disposal are paramount for the safe management of such wastes.
Sharpsmart operates facilities which are permitted by the Environment Agency and comply with the numerous ISO standards that we operate to. These facilities are regularly audited, and have an exceptional record when it comes to compliance.
When utilising subcontractors, we only select partners who can demonstrate compliance through rigorous qualification processes which include a thorough check of their permits, licences, insurances and any previous compliance breaches. As we hold compliance in the highest regard we do not work with providers who cannot demonstrate excellence with regards to compliance.
