Contamination-free Clinical Waste Containers
Sharpsmart’s clean container movement is changing the industry’s perception of how clinical waste should be disposed and transported.
In typical healthcare settings, reusable containers are lined with a bag and decanted once the bag is full. This practice leads to bins in patient environments not been cleaned, harbouring pathogens and accelerating risk of cross-contamination. At Sharpsmart, all of our sharps, clinical waste, cytotoxic and pharmaceutical containers are hands-free, and furthermore undergo a rigorous 6-stage robotic washing decontamination and sanitisation process after each use. We are proud to be “moving the goalposts” of what safety in clinical waste containers should look like, our results across needlestick injury reduction, segregation, cost reduction and landfill diversion prove that we’re on the right path!
