What chemicals are used to ‘sanitise’ the containers? How caustic are they to the environment?

The containers are sanitised using a detergent called Solid Hero, which is designed by Ecolab – specialists in the provision and protection of water, hygiene and energy technologies and services to the food, energy, healthcare, industrial and hospitality markets. This same product used around the world for industrial dishwashers many of which are installed in UK NHS hospitals. Under our sites’ EA permits, we are granted consent to discharge the remnants of the detergent by the relevant water authority. Regular frequent checks by the water authority show very low readings, almost pH neutral.
